relaxing and calming music for your anxious body | mental health support

Calming music for your anxious body. One of my most booked talks and viewed youtube content is on mental health. I often have people write me and say that they are really struggling with anxiety and they do not know what to do. I usually send people to apps like Calm or Headspace. Recently I have had a few people tell me they do not have the opportunity to pay for a subscription.

I thought I would upload a free video that you can use to just sit and breathe for a while. I do videos like this a few times and day and just lie on my bed or sit in a chair and breathe deeply for a break. I find it is very helpful in decreasing my anxiety.

Why not take 5 min, put on your AirPods, and just relax and breathe and see if it helps calm you. This will help with what is called the Relaxation Response. It is basically the opposite of the right, flight, or freeze response.

This is just one idea you can put into your “toolbox” for helping you in your mental health journey. This can be added to a healthy diet, good sleep, daily exercise, great community, strong faith, and many other things.

Love to hear what you think. If you like this I will look at adding more of these.

The largest chapter in my book Parenting: Navigating Everything is on mental health. Click here for more information.

If you have not seen my talk on mental health here is a YouTube LIVE I did last winter. Click here.
