Parenting: Navigating Everything Book Project – Can you help?
In the past 18 months I realized that when I go and speak to parents on the topics that I do (faith, media, pornography, mental health etc) I am only covering one of the topics, and leaving many parents whose kids are struggling in other areas without a roadmap of how to help their kids. I created a new talk for parents and realized that the larger goal is to create a single book that will have information for parents on all of the large areas we need to cover:
- Health (Physical, emotional, mental)
- Sexuality
- Dating
- Pornography
- Family Discipleship
- Finances
- Education
- etc
there are also new areas which are larger foundations of parenting which parents often ask me about:
- parenting styles
- communication
- discipline
- time and presence
I am presently at 175,000 words written and still have a number of chapters to go. I assume the book will be around 220,000 words when completed. The truth is this is really 4-5 book projects in one with this being more of a textbook/workbook for parents. People have told me that I should split this project into a bunch of different books. I disagree with this as I often only get to talk to parents for 1 time. I want to be able to offer them one resource that contains everything in one place.
Where we stand presently with this project:
Research $2500 – funded
Publishing $1000 – funded
Editing $6000 – needed
Graphics $800 – needed
Printing books $8000 – needed
Fundraising needs – $14,800
