Marriage: Navigating Everything – Marriage Flywheel Tool

Marriage: Navigating Everything – Marriage Flywheel Tool

For my new talk, Marriage: Navigating Everything, I created a marriage flywheel tool with 8 categories that can be examined as we look to improve our relationships. These are all things that seem to be the main themes in the couples therapy I see as a Psychotherapist. In the summer of 2025, this talk will be filmed into a course, but currently, it is only available as a talk.

I have found there are consistent discussions on topics such as:

1. Household Management

2. Intimacy

3. Communication

4. Conflict

5. Family

6. Finances

7. Fun

7. Purpose

For this flywheel, you can both rank yourself in that category from 1 to 10, and then you can discuss how you each got to your ranking. I encourage you to do this exercise with curiosity and a desire to learn about your partner and their rankings. I recognize this is not an exhaustive list. If you have others, please send me a message.

For a downloadable page with this flywheel with spaces to put your answers to these categories, please click the link below.

If you think you need some help with these, please find a local registered therapist who does marriage counselling.

If you wanted one resource to add to this, I would suggest this book by John Gottman

Author: John Gottman
Title: The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work: A Practical Guide from the Country’s Foremost Relationship Expert

If you are interested in booking me for a marriage talk which covers all of these 8 categories and more, please send me a message.
