Time to update your monthly budget

Time to update your monthly budget

Over the past month our lives have been dramatically changed no matter where you live and work. With so many people out of work I thought I would post a blank version of a budget spreadsheet that my wife and I use. With so many people anxious about finances it is good to know where you stand financially each month.

It is really simple. You add in the amounts you spend on all the different aspects of your life. Also, add in the income you (and maybe spouse) have. You can change any of the headings to headings that fit your family.

You are looking at the difference between what you bring in (income) and what you spend (expenses). This will allow you to see how you are doing each month. This is just a very simple way to see how you are doing. This is not long-term budget planning or investment planning. Just something to let you see how you are doing in this season we all find ourselves. I have attached an excel spreadsheet. Love to hear if this was useful.
