End of Year Giving… (and #GivingTuesday)

As we head to the end of 2024 we could use your help here at Worlds Apart.

One of my least favourite things to do is fundraising. One of the least liked, shared or commented-on posts I put on social media is fundraising. The hard part with this is that fundraising is necessary for our functioning for a non-profit organization like Worlds Apart.  As a small charity, our funds come from 3 sources

40% – speaking engagement honorariums
40% – tax receiptable donations/fundraising
20% – sales of books, digital products (courses)

We teach our kids to ask for help when they need it and as we watch our children mature we remind them, “If you ever need anything, just ask”. As adults, though, when we need help ourselves, we rarely ask for it. This is certainly true of me in my own life. For years people have said to me, “If you ever want to do something and cannot afford it, just ask”. So let me be very clear: Now, I am asking. I really need your help.

I have been the Executive Director of Worlds Apart since 1997. In fact, back in 2005 I left my teaching job to go into this ministry full-time. To this day my passion to see parents, leaders and students connect their ancient faith with their modern world motivates me to find better ways to bridge this gap.

Presently, there are several projects that I can use your help with:

  1. Media: Navigating Everything. Needed 3.5K. I would like to film my new media talk and create a study guide that will allow this to be used for small group. By placing this talk on RightNow Media and other platforms it allows me to broaden the reach of the talks that I do. Recently I heard from groups in South Africa, England, China as well as hundreds of groups from Canada and the US doing my Parenting course in the past few years.
  2. Reprinting – Parenting: Navigating Everything. Needed 4.5k. It is so encouraging to be selling out the fourth printing of my book Parenting: Navigating Everything. This comes with the struggle of trying to find the funds to print more copies. This is an interesting donation as the donation of 5k will offer the charity to make around 14k when the books are sold.
  3. Marriage: Navigating Everything. Needed 2.5k. I would like to film my new talk on marriage and put it online for people to access no matter where people live. A practical conversation on all aspects of marriage. This talk came from my work as a psychotherapist who often works with couples.

I presently have the opportunity to speak across Canada to tens of thousands of students, parents and leaders each year. I am asking you to consider financially supporting the work we do at Worlds Apart. Tax receiptable donations can be made through our Canada Helps site – https://www.canadahelps.org/dn/15850

To donate by mail please make your cheque payable to “Worlds Apart” and address it to: Worlds Apart, 68 Ashbury Blvd, Ajax, Ontario, L1Z 1M8.

Some other ways you can support the work I do

  1. I recently added a link (top of brettullman.com with social media buttons) to all the book suggestions I have on my Amazon shop. Any purchases made on Amazon help the charity.
  2. If you have read my Parenting: Navigating Everything book if you could do an Amazon review it would be beneficial.
  3. You could follow me on all of my social media to see all the resources I post on a weekly basis. You can find them all on the top of my website www.brettullman.com

Thanks for all of your support over the past 27 years. Looking forward to what opportunities arise for the rest of 2024 and throughout 2025.

If you have any questions please contact me through social media or email me at brett@brettullman.com
