any chance you can help support our projects? Fundraising

Hi,

I hope to find you doing well. I am often asked if there are projects that I am working on that someone might be able to help support. Below are some of the current projects I am trying to raise funds for as we finish 2021 and head into 2022. Thanks for your consideration.

One of the new projects I am working on is a new talk called mental health: navigating everything. The pandemic has exasperated this conversation in our lives, our families, churches, and beyond. I want to create a few things:

  1. I would like to have an online app/tool where a church/business can poll their group to see how people are doing with their mental health. This data will all be collated from a group, and, as leaders, we might be able to see where we can better serve our specific communities.
  2. I want to create a new talk on mental health which will be designed around practical application for what to do if you are struggling and how to help loved ones if they are struggling. The goal is more than just a presentation but more of a guided journey for what to do with mental health.
  3. To go along with the talk, I see a small mental health book in the style of the “choose your own adventure” books from my childhood. We are all unique people, and this book-style might help people find their path towards hope and healing.
  4. I am currently back in school taking a master’s in counselling psychology to add a few days a week of counselling to the work that I do. With these new skills, I want to create a call-in radio show/podcast around mental health questions similar to Dave Ramsay, who deals with finances. I would bring on other counsellors from across the country and have people call in or write in questions, and we can walk through some of the thoughts and solutions. With so many people looking for answers to mental health, I think this might be a great addition to the talk I will do and has the chance to reach a much larger audience.

One other project I would like to do is to create an audiobook of my book Parenting: Navigating Everything. With the sheer size of this book, the costs are around 7k for this project.

I am also in the research stage for a new talk on media.

I am looking at raising roughly 30k to help support these initiatives in the upcoming year.

I continue to speak on topics such as parenting, media, men, pornography, and dating. It is encouraging to see speaking dates returning to more in-person.

If you have any questions, please send me a message. Thanks for your support in the past, and if you can help with any current support, you can do this either through a cheque to Worlds Apart, 68 Ashbury Blvd, Ajax, Ontario, L1Z1M8 or online through Canada Helps – https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/15850.

Thanks
