My friends are dating. Some of them are going too far, I think.
My parents tell me to wait, but how long do I have to wait?
How far is too far? Does the Bible say there's just one person for me?
How far can I go without regretting it later?
The divorce rate is over 50% in western culture; this statistic is no longer a shocker. More disturbing than this reality, however, is the ease with which culture seems to have absorbed this trend. Incomes are being split, families are being divided and children are asked to choose which parent they want to live with. This presentation, intended for those dating age, begins the discussion on the concept of dating. Addressing many of the tough issues facing young people today. Brett explores the concepts of culture, sex and money and how these issues relate to Christian dating in the 21st century world.
Brett's talk was a fresh, uplifting view of dating, not just for Christians, but for anyone interested in hearing how and why we mess up dating (and marriage). But instead of getting preachy about it, he presents real, practical solutions that are actually useful, not something that is taught and then ignored. He goes to the places that my generation are being told not to go, and asks the questions that we are told not to discuss. From friendship to dating to marriage, Brett gives a Biblical and well thought-out point of view that is worth listening to.

Often teeneagers are told that they are too young to date, or that they are not ready but that is a very vague and detail-lacking explanation. Speaker Brett Ullman's talk about dating opens up many closed topics. He breaks it down for teenagers to understand, to really look deep into what dating actually is and to understand what lies behind the term dating... This is not just another talk, I found this talk very valuable and a changing point in my Christian life especially going through the age where the whole idea of dating surrounds you.

In a day and age where dating and relationships are handled so carelessly by people of every age, I think it's important for us to understand the reality beyond the guy-girl 'games' that we play. I found Brett's talk to be helpful in that he speaks about the topic from many different angles in order to emphasize that relationships are something that we need to take seriously.
